VPO

Mission Statement

We believe that St. Ursula Villa school is an extension of the home. We believe that parents have a special role in sustaining this vital extension. We believe that each individual is unique and has potential for learning, change and growth. We believe that, as St. Ursula Villa parents, our role is to facilitate the continuance of family values, assist the learning process, and support the principal, faculty and students.

Purpose

The purpose of the Villa Parents Organization is to:

  • acquaint parents and the community with the activities and traditions of the school
  • act as a conduit for parents to meet one another
  • provide financial, organizational, and volunteer support for the enrichment of educational programs
  • provide finances for special projects as recommended by the principal

VPO helps fund & support Community Events:

  • All-School Open House
  • Grandparents and Special Friends Day
  • Catholic Schools Week
  • Valentines Tea
  • May Party
  • Elves Shelves
  • Graduation
  • First Reconciliation
  • Confirmation
  • Donut for Dads/Muffins for Moms
  • Student Appreciation Day

VPO helps fund & support Educational Programs:

  • Everybody Counts
  • Science programs
  • Right to Read Week
  • Author visits
  • Artist in residence programs

VPO helps fund and support our Teachers & Staff:

  • $250 in classroom supplies to each teacher
  • Welcome Back Lunch
  • Teacher/Staff Appreciation Luncheon & Gifts during Catholic Schools Week
  • Coordinate room parents to support teachers

VPO helps fund and support Campus Improvements:

  • Updates to building exterior of the old carriage house/current Art room
  • New secure Main School front entry
  • Wireless-enabled projectors and computers
  • Furniture for the Junior High Extended Learning Area
  • Library books and hymnals
  • MPR stage curtains
  • Water filter system for MPR.

All families are members of VPO and there are many opportunities to get involved. The VPO Board is elected for three-year terms. The VPO welcomes all parental input and suggestions as well as volunteer help. Anyone interested in helping with VPO functions is urged to contact a Board Member or the appropriate chairperson.
